VIGO is working in conjunction with a leading provider of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and we're seeking an experienced Service Technician to join their team. The key aspect of this role is delivering on-site service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support for Delta Controls BAS. As an integral part of the team, you'll focus on hands-on field work, ensuring that customer systems operate in accordance with the stringent standards their reputation is built on.
Role Overview
As a BAS Service Technician, you'll be the front-line hero, ensuring optimal system performance and providing an exceptional level of service to customers within the Dallas area. This client-centered role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of Delta Controls BAS, including controllers, sensors, actuators and network-connected devices
Aid commissioning, system startups, point-to-point verification, and functional testing under supervision of engineers and senior technicians
Respond to service calls, alarms, and customer-reported issues professionally and promptly
Execute firmware updates, configuration alterations, and minor programming adjustments as instructed
Perform regular preventative maintenance, system inspections, and health checks
Recommend corrective actions for failing or at-risk components
Assist with system optimisation to enhance performance, reliability, and energy efficiency
Act as company representative, maintaining professionalism and a customer-focused approach at all times
Explain system issues, findings, and corrective actions to customers in layman terms
Coordinate with customers regarding access, scheduling, and service completion
Accurately document service activities, findings, and resolutions within the service management system
Communicate recurring issues or improvement opportunities to service leadership and engineering teams
Liaise with Service Engineers, Project Teams, and Control Engineers for advanced troubleshooting or escalations
The Ideal Candidate
2+ years of experience with Delta Controls or Niagara AX/N4
Solid understanding of HVAC equipment, control devices, and BAS field wiring
Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing and BACnet, MSTP
Ability to read wiring diagrams, control drawings, and point lists
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
Current or ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification within the first week of employment
