Role Overview
Your critical mission as a BMS Estimating Engineer is to craft precise cost estimates and initiate designs for smart building technology projects. You will collaborate with the technical team, external consultants, and clients to ensure that all proposals meet the project brief, are comprehensive, and competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for smart building technology systems
- Review project specifications, technical drawings, and documentation
- Source and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop clear, precise bid proposals
- Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Engage proactively with clients
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, bid proposals, and related correspondence
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders
The Ideal Candidate
- 3-5 years' experience in a BMS
- Strong technical understanding of BMS, HVAC, AV, IT Networks, and Lighting Controls
- Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Office Suites
- Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is desirable
- Prior experience in design, installation, or commissioning phase is advantageous
