VIGO is partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Special Projects Application Engineer into their high-performing Special Projects division. This agile business unit operates across data centre and pharmaceutical environments, delivering technically complex projects throughout the UK and Europe.
This is a key position within the team, focused on the development, configuration, and delivery of BMS applications across a range of high-profile projects. You will work closely with Design, Commissioning, and Project teams to ensure robust, scalable, and high-quality system delivery.
Role Overview
As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and deployment of BMS software and graphical interfaces, ensuring systems operate in line with design intent and client expectations. You will play a critical role across the project lifecycle, from initial development through to commissioning support and final handover.
This role combines remote working with site-based activities across the UK and Europe, offering exposure to technically demanding environments and large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and configure BMS application software in line with project specifications
Produce and modify graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for BMS systems
Interpret and implement control strategies into functional system applications
Support commissioning teams with software adjustments and system optimisation
Work closely with Design Engineers to ensure alignment between design and delivery
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues during commissioning phases
Maintain clear and accurate documentation of system configurations and changes
Ensure compliance with H&S, ISO, and company quality standards
Participate in FAT, SAT, and IST processes where required
Provide technical support to internal teams and clients throughout project delivery
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, or ALC
Strong knowledge of Niagara-based systems
Experience developing BMS software and graphical interfaces
Solid understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
Ability to interpret and implement complex system designs
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider project team
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with technical stakeholders
Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required
